.S. Rep. Tim Burchett is planning to change how the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) does its job. The U.S. representative, who represents much of East Tennessee in Washington, is now chairing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) subcommittee in the House.
In an interview with WVLT shortly following his appointment as chairman, Burchett said he’s planning to take advantage of previous work from the Government Accountability Office.
“This bunch is a nonpartisan bunch, and they’ve already done the reports on waste, abuse and fraud,” Burchett said. “And they’re just sitting there. So we’re going to go back and use those reports on the front end and let that dictate where we’re going to go.”
Burchett, who said he was surprised to get the call to take on DOGE, said he’s already picked some areas to look at.
Lambert here: The correct tricolon is “waste, fraud, and abuse.” What’s wrong with this dude?
