From one listing on Googledocs (!):

  • What to do first:
  • Organize your community and set up safe communications channels:
  • Having a secure place to share information and collaborate has been critical for pushing back against these moves.
  • Set up Signal
    • Ensure you have multiple moderators for groups and set disappearing messages (1 week is a good place to start, but you can go down to 1 day or less; please note those working in far-off places with little service such as Department of Interior, National Parks, Native American Reservations, rural communities, might opt out of this due to delayed communications and limited wifi abilities.)
    • Basic guide to using signal: https://ssd.eff.org/module/how-to-use-signal
    • Both broad/large groups and specific smaller topical groups will be helpful
  • Recruit from existing networks.
    • Of course talent is not limited to previous appointees, so build broad strong networks.
    • Create a Team Signal to make sure everyone has access to information and take daily roll calls and team check-ins on everyone’s mental and physical health.
    • If you already have relationships with trusted advocates, particularly those with strong Hill and press relationships, include them early.
  • Develop a central information tracking location — could be a google doc for central messages, materials, advocacy content.
  • Create dummy gmail accounts separate from your personal email account to set up document sharing.
  • Set up personal digital security and doxxing protection:
