Elon Musk Is Not Trying to Steal Your Social Security

You are probably aware that Mr. Musk is America’s wealthiest taxpayer. Now we can see that he does, in fact, have a dog in this hunt. One might even call it a “potential conflict of interest,” which Mr. Musk fortuitously did not have to pledge to avoid, by virtue of being a “special government employee” and not, say, the head of DOGE, which is a position that would require such a pledge. Unless SS spending can be reduced, Mr. Musk (and his fellow superrich people) will very likely see their taxes go up significantly. So why have no questions been asked about this potential conflict of interest?
